Christian Christmas Shirts: The Verses Behind Our Christmas Designs

Every Christmas shirt we make starts with a question: what does this season actually celebrate? Most of our answers come straight from Scripture. Here is the verse behind each design in our Christmas collection, what it means in plain words, and a few ideas for wearing or giving it.

Born is the King Tee

Born Is the King: Luke 2:11

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” An angel spoke these words to shepherds working the night shift outside Bethlehem, the city of David. In one sentence, he gives Jesus three titles: Savior, the one who rescues; Christ, the promised Messiah; and Lord. Our design pairs that announcement with the wise men traveling by camel, who came looking for the one “born king of the Jews” (Matthew 2:2). Heather gray, in a tee or long sleeve.

Wonderful Counselor Christmas Tee

Wonderful Counselor: Isaiah 9:6

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given… and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah wrote this centuries before Bethlehem, to people living in dark times. Each name says something about who Jesus is: wise beyond us, God himself, a Father who never leaves, and the one who makes peace with God possible. The four names circle a gold nativity on navy, in a tee or long sleeve.

Salvation Rejoice: Luke 2:14

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased.” Right after the angel’s announcement, a crowd of angels broke into praise. Glory goes up to God, and peace comes down to people. Our design stacks five words, joy, hope, peace, rejoice and salvation, into the shape of a Christmas tree in pink and green. It comes on green, in a women’s tee or women’s long sleeve.

A golden cross with “Christmas” in script, on red. The idea behind it is simple: the manger leads to the cross. Jesus was born so that he could save, and Christmas is the first chapter of that story. Available as a tee or long sleeve.

It’s All About Jesus: Romans 11:36

“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” Paul wrote this as a burst of praise after explaining God’s plan of salvation. Everything starts with God, is held together by him and points back to him. That includes Christmas. Red lettering on heather gray or white, in a tee or long sleeve.

Feliz Navidad

“Feliz Navidad” means Merry Christmas in Spanish. “Navidad” comes from the Latin word for birth, so the greeting itself names the Nativity. Red and green lettering with a gold script, on white. It comes in an adult tee, long sleeve and kid’s tee, which makes it our easiest whole-family match.

Merry Merry Christmas

No verse here, just joy. The angel told the shepherds he brought “good news of great joy” (Luke 2:10), and this design is our way of saying it three times. Layered red and pink lettering on white, in a women’s tee, women’s long sleeve and girl’s tee.

How to wear and give them

How to choose a size

Adult Christmas shirts come in XS through 2XL in a relaxed unisex fit, including the women’s designs. Our size chart lists chest ranges: XS 31–34″, S 34–37″, M 38–41″, L 42–45″, XL 46–49″, 2XL 50–53″. Kid’s and girl’s tees come in YS through YXL, fitting children’s sizes 4 to 12. All are pre-shrunk.
